#218 Breaking
Her Maiden
Oil Painting
She’s a delicate boned filly…well bred.
Not to sure of the situation she suddenly
finds herself in. Not panicking, not sure.
She trusts her jockey, feels his resolve.
He leads her well.
He knows what she needs to learn,
and how to win with her!
I started noticing checkered jockey silks.
Noticed I wanted to paint them!
I love the look of them,
the way the light changes along
the folds of the fabric.
Then one day I saw this young fillies face,
what a combination: complicated fabric,
young uncomplicated horse!
Sweet young thing…seasoned jockey
Perfect track conditions...
this
one is ours!
